Rimanic to take charge of Iran handball team

TEHRAN - Ivica Rimanic is scheduled to travel to Iran on Sunday to sign a contract with the Iran Handball Federation (IHF) to take charge of the team.

The 55 year-old Croat has worked in Norway for 16 years and coached women’s clubs (Byasen and Nordstrand) and men’s clubs (Stavanger and Fyllingen) in the country.
Rimanic has also spent two years in Kuwait with the club team Al Salmiya; one season in Saudi Arabia and another two seasons in Japan with the men’s national team.
Rimanic will be Iran’s fourth foreign handball coach. Russians Yury Klimov and Yuri Kidyaev as well as Slovenian Borut Macek have previously led Iran handball team.
Iran handball team is gearing up for 2012 Olympic Games qualifiers and Asian Men's Handball Championship
